The Holy Grail of Engine Turning
Recessing for enamel and low relief engine turning the recess in one operation. Only our CAD CAM system can do this.
Notre Dam. A design for saleTo create a recess and engine turn the bottom with a high quality low relief design in one operation is the holy grail of Engine Turning. To do that with multi-level recess depths on 3D shapes is truly remarkable. This design illustrates the result very well. Not surprisingly, only Pledge & Aldworth can do this.
We will try to add a photo of an enamelled sample ASAP. The CAD CAM process utilises finer than normal cutting to be able to cut deeper for enamel, thus the recesses are taken out and engine turned in one pass, it just requires more cuts. The great advantage of this technique, as clearly demonstrated in these images, is that we can cut many small cells for enamel with detailed surfaces in the bottom of the cells. The depth of recessing is suitable for either vitreous (glass) or synthetic enamels. |
