- Security Printing
-
Although security printing as once used for bank notes and stamps is not so much in use today in the conventional way, we have worked on high tech processes that use interference patterns to prevent photographic forgery techniques for documents, banknotes and stamps.
- Counterfeit Protection and Product Identity
-
For manufacturers of high fashion items with high price tags such as luxury handbags and watches, using our processes on the fittings virtually guarantees that counterfeiters will be unable to accurately reproduce them because the places where counterfeiting activities are prevalent do not have our extensive and extremely rare specialist machinery and skills, so that "look alike" products and illegal copies will be very easily distinguishable from the real thing.
This applies to a very wide variety of fashion and luxury goods which are so often successfully forged.
- Antique Restoration
-
Because we use exactly the same actual machines and skills to work on repair jobs as were used in the original manufacture, what we can produce is very often indistinguishable from the piece as new and can therefore considerably raise the value of such items after repair and restoration. A watch case, that had belonged to Napoleon's brother, had it's value raised from £7,000 to £14,000 in the mid 1980s, by our work.
We supply all levels of the industry from individual artist-craftsmen, repairers and restorers to mullti-national luxury goods groups, such as Richemont.
We are approved suppliers to many of the most important international manufacturers and our name stands on our ability to tackle the most challenging, complex and difficult projects and yet still consistently deliver the finest quality in the World.
Pledge & Aldworth provide the world's most comprehensive and complete engine turning service to the jewellery, gold, silverware, horological and allied trades. We handle all types of product and in all quantities from small one-off items for individual craftsmen to important objets for the world's most famous jewellery houses to volume CAD/CAM production for major international manufacturers.
Much of our work is cut using hand operated machinery which has changed little in 300 years, but we are also the world leaders in engine turning technology with our multi headed modular CAD/CAM system.
We work on most metals including gold, silver, platinum, brass, various tool steels, aluminium, pewter, nickel silver, gilding metal, titanium, niobium etc and a few other materials such as hard woods, horn, plastics - basically anything that can be cut to high standards.
We can match any pattern that has ever been engine turned at as good or better quality, besides a vast array of work that no other firm in the world can copy.
A half mile walk down Bond Street in London UK will provide numerous examples of our work and similarly in many other major cities around the world along the streets where the best gold and silverware is sold; also our work can be seen on the covers of the world's top fashion magazines and in royal palaces all over the world as well as all the main international department stores.
Well known names such as Dunhill, Cartier, Asprey, Garrard, Montegrappa and Conway Stewart number among our long term customers as do many smaller firms and others we supply on an occasional basis. We also work closely with designers and design consultants, who then recommend us to their clients to help in the manufacture of the finished product with our service.
